On a political level, European monarchs used artistic patronage to exalt their power and legitimacy, commissioning monumental works that reflected their greatness. Furthermore, the Baroque influenced architecture, music, literature and culture in general, generating masterpieces still admired today. In short, the Baroque not only transformed the artistic landscape of Europe, but also left a lasting cultural legacy relevant todas. In other words, it was a period of great artistic and cultural intensity in Europe, notable for its emotional expression, religious fervor, connection to the monarchy, and its enduring legacy in the history of Western art.
